Androgyny
Androgyny refers to the possession of both “female” and “male” gender-role characteristics. Androgyny is a term that combines the Greek words for man and woman that refers to a state of ambiguous gender in which identifying sexual characteristics are uncertain or mixed. It differs from hermaphoditism, or intersexuality, a condition in which dual sexual characteristics are unambiguously present. To say that someone is andryogynous is to say that he or she combines stereotypically male and female attributes.
