Becoming is the state of everything in the universe according to Heraclitus. Nothing is static and unchanging; rather, everything in the universe is dynamic, that is, becoming somethi ng other than what it was.

Becoming refers to a characteristic of the authentic life because the authentic person is always "becoming" something other than what he or she was. Becoming is the normal, healthy psychological growth of a human being.
