Bereavement reactions
Bereavement reactions refer to normal reaction usually after the death of someone or something. Person often sad or numb. Can be angry and irritable. Can feel guilty about unfinished things, or the death itself. Sometimes has unusual experiences such as seeing or hearing the person who has died. Can last for 6 months or longer. If severe, can lead to depressive illness. Bereavement reactions usually get better with time and support from friends and family. Sometimes need counseling, but not usually.
