De-escalation
De-escalation means toning down the intensity of the conflict or dispute so that a solution becomes more likely. The angrier people are at each other, the less likely a solution will be reached. The parties can de-escalate the conflict by using good communication skills. De-escalation may also occur when the parties get tired of fighting, or when they realize that keeping the conflict going is doing them more harm than good.
