Scapegoat theory
Scapegoat theory refers to an explanation of intergroup Conflict arguing that hostility caused by frustrating environmental circumstances is released by taking hostile actions against members of other social groups. It is a theory which proposes that prejudice occurs because members of dominant groups use discrimination against members of weak target groups to vent their frustration and disappointment

Scapeboat theory also means blaming problems and misfortunes on outgroups contributes to negative attitudes toward these outgroups.
