Active Listening refers to feature of client-centered therapy that involves empathetic listening, by which the therapist echoes, restates, and clarifies what the client says. Active listening uses techniques to show the other person that his or her interests and concerns have been heard. It includes repetition, reflection, and interest-interpretation.
Active Listening A way of participating in a conversation that focuses on listening, not talking. It confirms understanding of both the content of the message and the emotions and feelings underlying the message to ensure that understanding is accurate.
