Hypoxia
Hypoxia refers to the reduced oxygenation of brain. Hypoxia is typically not associated with cell death, but some possible interference in the functioning of the neuron. Hypoxia is us ually related to inadequate breathing, such as experienced during sleep apnea, can occur at high altitude, or is related to carbon monoxide poisoning.

Hypoxia is also defined as a relative lack of oxygen, example, at altitude which may be experienced by mountain climbers if they are not careful. It is a condition characterized by less oxygen than is required.

Hypoxia also refers to a birth complication in which umbilical blood flow is disrupted and the infant does not receive adequate oxygen
