State anxiety refers to a temporary condition of dread or uneasiness stemming from a specific situation.

State anxiety refers to a temporary condition of dread or uneasiness stemming from a specific situation. State anxiety is an emotional reaction to a situation that from one situation to the next.

Moreover, State anxiety is defined as an unpleasant emotional arousal in face of threatening demands or dangers. A cognitive appraisal of threat is a prerequisite for the experience of this emotion (Lazarus, 1991).

State anxiety is also known as A-State.
