Embalming is defined as the removal of blood and bodily fluids from a corpse, together with their replacement with artificial preservatives intended to retard decomposition and color the skin. Embalming is mainly intended to permit viewing of the body during a wake or visitation. When the dead body is to be transported on a common carrier, like plane or ship, Embalming is required by law only in limited circumstances
