Focused attention is attending to one information source, while disregarding other sources of information; a form of selective Attention involving the restriction of Attention to a sp
ecific feature, or set of features, to the exclusion of other features.
Likewise, Focused attention is a situation in which people try to attend to only one source of stimulation while ignoring the other stimulus.
Focus attention is studied by presenting people with two (2) or more stimuli at the same time and instructing them to respond to only one. This study shows how well people can select at the same time allows us to study the nature of the selection process.
Example: a father is driving when the cell phone rings. The father chose to drive concentrately and ignored the ringing cell phone
