Dendrite is defined as branching fiber that emanates from a neuron, growing narrower as it extends from the cell body toward the periphery. It is the end of the neuron that receives information; it looks like a tree with many branches and typically contain numerous receptor sites, and are thus important in neural transmission Moreover, Dendrites are neuron fibers that receive incoming messages; the rootlike parts of a neuron that receive impulses from other neurons.
