Behavioral oscillation
Behavioral oscillation is a concept based on Hull’s recognition that the potential of a situation to elicit a response is not fixed but varies or "oscillates" around a central point. Therefore, behavior is never completely predictable.
Oscillates means to swing back and forth with a steady, uninterrupted rhythm; swing from side to side regularly.
