Episiotomy

Episiotomy is defined as a surgical incision in the area between the birth canal and the anus that widens the vaginal opening that prevents random tearing during childbirth. It is a cut made with surgical scissors to avoid tearing of the perineum at the end of the second stage of labor.

Episodic buffer

Episodic buffer is defined as a limited-capacity system that is capable of binding information from the subsidiary systems and from long-term memory into a unitary episodic representation. Episodic buffer is a component of Baddeley's working memory model that is hypothesized to temporarily maintain and integrate the information of different sensory inputs (visual and auditory) through its relationship with long-term memory.
