Multiattribute utility theory (MAUT)

Multiattribute utility theory (MAUT) refers to a normative model of decision making that provides a means of integrating different dimensions and goals of a complex decision. MAUT involves six steps, which are the following: (1) breaking a decision down into independent dimensions; (2) determining the relative weights of each of those dimensions;. (3) listing all the alternatives;. (4) ranking all the alternatives along the dimensions;. (5) multiplying the rankings by the weightings to determine a final value for each alternative; and (6) choosing the alternative with the highest value.

Multiaxial assessment

Multiaxial assessment is defined as the evaluation of patients along multiple domains of information. The DSMIV- TR calls for diagnosis along five separate axes, each of which aids in treatment planning and the prediction of outcome.

Multiaxial System

Multiaxial System refers to a classification system consisting of several different domains (axes) of information about the subject that may assist a clinician in planning the treatment of a disorder. The DSM is an example of a multiaxial classification system which has five (5) Axes

Multicultural awareness

Multicultural awareness refers to sensitivity to the needs of those who come from different cultures than one's own, or that typical of the institution. Multiculturalism

Multiculturalism means giving equal status, recognition, and acceptance to different ethnic and cultural groups. Moreover, Multiculturalism is the hypothesis that, to reduce prejudice, different cultural groups within a society should each maintain their own identity while simultaneously respecting all other groups

Multidimensional is defined as the notion that intelligence consists of many dimensions; characteristic of theories of intelligence that identify several types of intellectual abilities

Multidimensional approaches research that includes a consideration of biological, psychological, and societal processes incorporating different levels of measurement, different research methods, and different statistical analyses.
