Aversive racism refers to a genuine Desire to be non-prejudiced accompanied by negative feelings toward outgroup members; a "modern” kind of Prejudice held by people who do not consi
der themselves prejudiced and who would find any accusation of being prejudiced aversive, but who nevertheless harbor some negative beliefs and hostile feelings toward members of minority groups
Likewise, Aversive racism refers to a combination of beliefs in equality for all and negative emotions towards members of other races.
