Medial geniculate nucleus

Medial geniculate nucleus is defined as an auditory nucleus in the Thalamus that is part of the pathway from the cochlea to the auditory cortex. The Medial geniculate nucleus receives inputs from the inferior colliculus and transmits signals to the auditory cortex.

Medial lemniscal pathway

Medial lemniscal pathway refers to the pathway in the spinal cord that transmits signals from the skin toward the Thalamus.

Medial lemniscus

Medial lemniscus is defined as a white matter tract that courses through the contralateral side of the brainstem through the medulla, pons, and midbrain to be routed up through the Thalamus (ventral posterior nucleus, VP) and on to the primary somatosensory cortex.

Median

Median is the measure of central tendency of a distribution that is calculated by ordering all scores and selecting the middle score; the middle score of when all scores are listed from lowest to highest. Median, moreover, is a measure of central tendency that identifies the score that divides the distribution exactly in half. Exactly 50% of the individuals have scores above the median and 50% have scores below the median.
