Power assertion
Power assertion refers to the use of physical punishment or coercion to enforce child discipline; a form of discipline in which an adult relies on his or her superior power, examples are administering spankings or withholding privileges to modify or control a child’s behavior.
Power assertion is likewise a discipline technique involving physical force, harsh language, or control of resources.
