Thought suppression refers to the attempt to avoid thinking about something we would just as soon forget
- Thought-Stopping : Thought-Stopping refers to a behavior modification technique in which critical and independent thinking is discouraged or disallowed
Thought-stopping refer to techniques strategies that involve finding ways to stop intrusive thoughts. It is a cognitive-behavioral method in which the patient learns to stop having anxiety-provoking thoughts.
It used aversive stimuli to interrupt or prevent upsetting thoughts.
Threat appraisal means the evaluation of negative factors, for example the potential for harm) that affect the likelihood of engaging in a particular behavior. If one concludes that there is little immediate threat to oneself, one will be more likely to engage in the behavior in Protection Motivation Theory
Threat gesture refers to a stereotyped gesture that signifies that one animal is likely to attack another member of the species
