Environmental determinism

Environmental determinism is defined as the type of determinism that stresses causes of behavior that are external to the organism. Environmental determinism is the notion that children are passive creatures who are molded by their environments.

Environmental hypothesis

Environmental hypothesis refers to the notion that groups differ in IQ because the environments in which they are raised are not equally conducive to intellectual growth.

Environmental illness

Environmental illness is a newly identified phenomenon that refers to a polysymptomatic disorder associated with immune system dysfunction and allergy-like sensitivity to many compounds found in chemicals, foods, clothing, perfumes, and substances found in the air. Environmental illness is also called Total environmental allergy syndrome.

Environmental psychology examines the interrelationship between environments and human behavior. The field defines the term environment very broadly including all that is natural on the planet as well as social settings, built environments, learning environments and informational environments.
