Central executive refers to the proposed component of working memory responsible for directing the flow of information and selecting what information to work with.
- Central executive system : Central executive system is a term in Baddeley’s model of working memory (short-term memory or STM), that which is concerned with regulating the flow of information from sensory storage, processing it for longterm storage, and retrieving it from long-term storage.
