Glucocorticoids refe to hormones secreted by the adrenal cortex that increase the concentration of liver glycogen and blood sugar. Glucocorticoids is also any one of a group of hormones produced by the adrenal cortex that influences carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism.
Glucose is defined as a simple sugar that is transported via the blood and metabolized by tissues. It is the main fuel of vertebrate neurons.
