Noam Chomsky coined the term Language Acquisition Device (LAD ) to refer to the mental faculty that underlies the human ability to acquire language. Language Acquisition Device In Chomsky's theory, refers to the hypothetical construct possessed by all humans at birth enabling them to acquire language.
