Direct effect refer to instances in which any pair of family members affects and is affected by each other’s behavior. Direct effect also refers to the number of stressors can be the antecedent variable and well-being is the outcome. A simple Direct effect would be that people with more stressors are more unhappy (a positive correlation ).
Direct effects hypothesis refers to the theory that coping resources, such as social support, have beneficial psychological and health effects under conditions of both high stress and low stress.
