Neurotic anxiety

Neurotic anxiety refers to anxiety that occurs when one is repeatedly prevented from expressing one's ID impulses according to Freud. The abnormal fear of freedom that results in a person living a life that minimizes personal choice. It is an anxiety that is out of proportion to a particular event. It is usually an indication that an individual is not living authentically and may fail to make choices and assume responsibility.
